Step 6: Inspect Suspicious Marks

If you’re still not sure, you can sometimes firmly establish that what you are examining is mold by smelling the book. Keep in mind that when you do smell a questionable book, use caution: do not inhale deeply right from the spot in question – reduce your exposure to mold spores by sniffing gently from some other part of the book.
